PICPA Northern Emirates Celebrates Success at 2024 SPLE CPA Board Exam

Strengthening Filipino CPA Presence and Professional Growth in the Middle East

The PICPA Northern Emirates chapter proudly announces that two of its associate members have successfully passed the 2024 Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for Certified Public Accountants, held on June 16, 17, and 18. This year’s exam saw a total of 56 examinees, with a passing rate of 7.14%, equating to 4 successful candidates. Notably, this is the first year that PICPA Northern Emirates participated in the SPLE, with 25 of its associate members taking part in the examination.

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of Janiel Alcalde and Ryan Tizon, who have both passed the rigorous SPLE CPA Board Exam. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, marking a significant milestone not only in their careers but also in the history of PICPA Northern Emirates.

In addition to our passers, we are pleased to confirm that two more of our associate members have achieved conditional status in the exam, reflecting the high standard of preparation and competence among our members.

The SPLE is a prestigious examination conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) of the Philippines, allowing Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to obtain professional licenses while abroad.

CPA Exam Subjects Covered

The SPLE for CPAs includes the following subjects:

  1. Financial Accounting and Reporting: Focuses on the conceptual framework and accounting standards applicable to various business entities.
  2. Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting: Covers more complex accounting topics, including business combinations, consolidations, and foreign currency transactions.
  3. Auditing: Encompasses auditing standards, techniques, and procedures, as well as ethical standards and internal controls.
  4. Management Advisory Services: Includes management consultancy, decision analysis, and strategic planning.
  5. Taxation: Deals with Philippine taxation laws, regulations, and procedures.
  6. Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions: Focuses on business laws, obligations, contracts, and government regulations affecting business operations.
